JASMINE BENTIVOGLIO

PROFESSIONAL DANCER

BIOGRAPHY

Jasmine Bentivoglio is a versatile powerhouse of a dancer. She was born in Sydney Australia and moved to Canada at a young age. She was enrolled in dance class as a child where her passion for dance blossomed. Jasmine went on to become a competitive dancer and has competed all over Ontario as well as travelling to compete in the United States. During her competitive dance career she has been awarded scholarships to dance intensives and conventions including Nuvo and 24Seven where she had the opportunity to meet and dance with her idols Travis Wall and tWitch. She has been awarded triple overall soloist multiple times and has won special awards for her choreography as well as her passion when performing. While in her competitive dance career, she also performed in shows outside the dance studio such as Canada's Ballet Jorgen's Canadian Nutcracker.

She followed her passion for dance to George Brown College's Commercial Dance Program in Toronto. Here she blossomed into a triple threat performer and sparked a love for Acting. Upon graduating from the program she kept up her training at The National Ballet of Canada as well as City Dance Corps. She went on to book an agent, work in TV/Film and keep performing. One of her favourite performances she did was a contemporary piece by Christopher Knowles at Fall for Dance North. Currently Jasmine is still auditioning in the GTA and teaching youth and adult classes at City Dance Corps.

ABOUT

DANCE BACKGROUND

From a young age I knew that I wanted to be a dancer when I grew up, my mother enrolled me in dance class as a child and every year my love for dance grew. I wanted to do more so I started competing at dance competitions all over Ontario and even in the United States! During my time as a competitive dancer I would volunteer at every event for my dance studio; helping younger dancers with hair, makeup, learning dances, helping parents find the proper dance wear and shoes for their dancers.

After graduating from my hometown dance studio I went to George Brown College’s Commercial Dance Program. I went on to book an agent, do lots of auditions and shows, as well as work in TV/Film! I am currently teaching and working on completing dance teacher certifications.

TEACHING

In grade school we are asked what we want to be when we grow up and my answer was “professional dancer”. When my school teachers heard this my answer was met with “pick something more realistic, that won’t happen” but when my dance teacher heard this she said “excellent, I know some great dance programs!”. My dance teacher was my positive role model and still is to this day. She welcomed each and every dancer with kindness that walked through her studio doors. I learned that it only takes one teacher to make all the difference in the world. I became very passionate about teaching dance because of my dance teacher who provided me with the tools, space and positive environment that I was able to become the dancer I am today. I realized that I wanted to be the best dance teacher I could be who provides dancers with everything that my dance teacher gave to me and more!

I feel that being any kind of teacher is more than just a job. You are someone who is helping shape a new generation. Being a dance teacher is not just “teaching kids how to dance”. Some days you are a therapist, healer, advice giver, makeup artist, hairstylist, lighting director, DJ, or even the best part of a young dancers day. Dance class is not something you have to go to, it should be a place where you want to go to.

I strive to create a fun, safe and welcoming environment for both my youth and adult classes. Being a dance teacher, in my opinion, is one of the most heart filling jobs in the world!

Private Classes

Private and Semi-Private Bookings are available starting September 22nd, 2024.

To book a lesson you may either send an e-mail to danceteacherjasmine@gmail.com, or book through Google Calendar by clicking the button below.

What comes with the Private Lesson?

At the start of each Private Lesson, I take the time to sit down with the dancer to understand their dance background and goals. This personalized approach ensures that each lesson is tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. The lessons can be filmed and sent to the dancer if they would like. This can provide the dancer with a valuable resource to review their progress. Parents are more than welcome to sit in and watch, offering support and encouragement. After each session, the dancer will receive detailed notes and recommended steps to help them achieve their goals. This comprehensive feedback is designed to guide their practice and development between lessons.

  • 1 Hour of Personalized Instruction: Tailored to the dancer’s needs and goals.
  • Optional Filming: Record the lesson for the dancer to use as a resource.
  • Parental Involvement: Up to the dancer’s preference.
  • Notes and Feedback: Designed to guide the dancer’s development and help achieve their goals.
